wetp iconDisputes will inevitably arise between people.  It is an unfortunate part of life.  Fortunately, there are options to how we can deal with those disputes.

More than "just going to Court", litigation is more about finding solutions.  This may be by way of discussion, negotiation, mediation or arbitration, and the full litigation process involving a Court.  If required, we will work with you to start an action.  If an action is brought against you, we will defend you against the claim.

Business Disputes

Business disputes can include partnership, shareholder or even family disagreement (in a family-based business), but they can also include issues with employees, suppliers and contractors, landlords and lenders.  The resolution of each issue must be tailored to a business' needs.  For example, some issues might be worth fighting for, whereas in other situations, it might serve the business best to have the issue resolved quickly.  We work closely with business owners to understand your business goals and determine the best dispute resolution method for each situation.

Estate Litigation

Estate litigation is increasingly common, especially in this era of blended families. Disputes often involve interpreting the meaning of the Will, establishing the validity of a Will, and varying the terms of a Will so that a Will-maker's spouse and children are treated fairly and appropriately.

Tax Litigation

We are one of the few firms in the Fraser Valley to have experience in tax litigation.  Dealing with the Canada Revenue Agency, in either a personal or business capacity, can be an intimidating process.  We can assist you at any stage of the process, including at the inital planning stage to minimize future audit or tax risk.
